Content
Club career
Umaña began his career, speaking for the clubs " Carmelite " and " Herediano ." In 2005, he accepted the offer of the American “ Los Angeles Galaxy ” and moved to the USA. Over the six months spent at the club, Michael won the Lamar Hunt Cup and helped the new team become the MLS champion. Soon he returned to his homeland, where he played for Bruhas for one season, and then for the second time signed a contract with Herediano. In 2007, Umanya moved to Liberia Miya , which he played for three seasons.
In 2010, Michael was again in the MLS, his new club became Chivas USA [2] . On March 27, in the match against Colorado Rapids , he made his debut for a new club [3] . June 26, 2011 in a duel against the “ Philadelphia Union ” Umanya scored his first goal for the team [4] . Season 2012/2013 Michael played for the Guatemalan " Communication ", after which he returned to his homeland. In the summer of 2013, he signed a contract with Saprissa . International Career
February 16, 2005 in the match against the national team of Ecuador Umaña debuted for the national team of Costa Rica . In 2004, as part of the national team, Michael went to the Olympic Games in Athens . In 2007, Umaña again went to the CONCACAF Gold Cup . In the tournament he played in matches against the teams of Canada [28] , Haiti [29] and Guadeloupe [30] .
In 2013, Michael performed for the third time at the CONCACAF Gold Cup . At the tournament, he played in fights against teams of Honduras [31] , USA [32] and Belize [33] . In the same year, in the national team, Umania won the Central American Cup . On March 27, 2013, Michael scored his first goal for the national team in the World Cup qualifier for Brazil vs. Jamaica [34] .
In 2014, Michael was included in the national team's application for participation in the World Cup in Brazil . He played in the tournament against Uruguay [35] , Italy [36] , Greece [37] and the Netherlands [38] .
In 2015, Umaña performed for the fourth time at the CONCACAF Gold Cup . At the tournament, he played in a duel against the teams of El Salvador [39] .
In 2016, Michael got in the application for the America's Cup in the United States. He was a spare at the tournament and did not enter the field. In 2017, Umaña became the bronze medalist of the CONCACAF Gold Cup . At the tournament, he played in a match against the teams of French Guiana [40] .
