Biography

Victor Kuznetsov was born on February 10, 1923 in Moscow . After graduating from the Frunze Aeroclub of Moscow, he worked there as an instructor pilot. In September 1941, Kuznetsov was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1942, he graduated from the Saratov Military Aviation and Glider School, in 1944 - the Kirovabad Military Aviation Pilot School. From March 1943 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War [1] .

Since 1950, Kuznetsov was a test pilot of the State Research Institute of the Air Force, from 1964 - Chief of the Flight Test Service of Bomber Aviation at the same institute. He participated in testing the suspension on the " Tu-2 ", as well as testing aircraft " Tu-22 ", " Il-18 ", " An-10 ", " Tu-95 " and a number of their modifications [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 21, 1965, for "courage and heroism shown in testing aviation equipment," Colonel Viktor Kuznetsov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 10707 [1] .

In July 1967, in the rank of colonel Kuznetsov was dismissed. He lived in the village of Chkalovsky (now - within the city of Schelkovo, Moscow region ).

He died on December 24, 1997, and was buried in the cemetery of the village of Leonikh, Schelkovsky District, Moscow Region [1] .

Honored Test Pilot of the USSR . He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner , World War 1-st degree, two orders of the Red Star , a number of medals and foreign awards [1] .
