In the 1940/41 season, Carvet made his debut in the main team, but, barely gaining a foothold in the composition, broke his leg and missed the rest of the season. The following year, he was recovering from an injury and, through games at Indianapolis Capitals, returned to the main squad of Detroit. In the 1942/43 season, Carvet won his first Stanley Cup .

In 1946, Carvet ended up on the Boston Bruins team as a result of an exchange, where he played a season and a half and was traded to the Montreal Canadiens , from where he returned to Detroit in the 1949/50 season to win his second Stanley Cup. The next season was the last in the NHL career Karvet.
