The source of the river is located at the non-residential village of Mari-Sabuyal near the border with the Republic of Mari El , 12 km northeast of the village of Kosolapovo . The river flows east, flows along the southern outskirts of the village of Ashlan ( Lopyalsky rural settlement ), below which it flows into Urzhumka.
