Design and specifications
RSASS was developed by Remington Arms with the help of JP Enterprises Company , a manufacturer of sports match rifles. The rifle consists of JP parts, but Remington Arms maintains, sells, and provides after-sales support. Remington implements a rifle with a Leupold Mark 4 M3 LR optical sight with a variable magnification of 4.5-14x, a quick-detachable muffler, Harris bipods and a case. [2]
RSASS is designed for firing at a distance of 800-1000 meters. The declared accuracy for RSASS is calculated up to 1000 meters. [1] Accuracy of the rifle is less than 1 arcminute when firing sniper cartridges. [3]
RSASS is based on the AR-10 system under the .308 cartridge with an adjustable gas impact operation. The receiver is made of aluminum alloy. The cocking handle is located on its left side. Adjustable butt Magpul PRS. The barrel is made of stainless steel with cryogenic processing . Box stores have a capacity of 20 rounds. [3]
Usage
The primary users are law enforcement and military personnel as a Marxman / sniper rifle. As of January 2013, RSASS is available only to the military. [four]
