Ogasawara National Park ( Japanese: 笠原 国立 国立 公園 ogasawara kokuritsu ko: en ) is a national park located on the islands of the same name (also known as the Bonin Islands ). Located 1,930 km south of Tokyo . In 2011, the Ogasawara Islands were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site . [one]

Islands
The Ogasawara Islands are also known as the Bonin Islands . They are located in the Pacific Ocean at a distance of 1,930 kilometers from Tokyo and are part of Tokyo Prefecture . The Ogasawara Archipelago was returned to Japan in 1968 after occupation by the United States .
The park includes groups of the islands of Titijima , Hahajima and Mukojima . Of the three Kazan islands , only North Ioto is included there [2] .
Flora and Fauna
According to IUCN estimates for UNESCO , 441 taxa of native plants are registered on the islands, of which 161 are endemic vascular plants and 88 are endemic woody plants . The only native mammal is the Bonin flying fox ( Pteropus pselaphon ), which is on the verge of extinction . There are 195 species of birds, of which 14 are listed in the IUCN Red List . Of the 2 species of land reptiles, one ( Skink Cryptoblepharus nigropunctatus ) is endemic. Insects registered 1,380 species, of which 379 are endemic; land snails - 134 species, 100 of which are endemic.
There are 40 freshwater species on the islands, and 795 species of ocean fish in the surrounding waters. In addition, 23 species of cetaceans and 226 species of reef-forming corals were recorded in these places of the ocean [3] .
