The competition was attended by 575 athletes from 43 countries, of which 337 men and 238 women [1] .

Prize Fund
The total prize pool of the competition amounted to 1,400,000 US dollars [2] .
Per team: 1st place - $ 50,000, 2nd place - $ 30,000, 3rd place - $ 20,000, 4th place - $ 12,000, 5th - $ 10,000, 6th place - $ 8000, 7 7th place - $ 6,000; 8th place - $ 4,000.
For setting a world record, the team was entitled to an additional bonus of $ 50,000.

On January 25, 2016, the All-Russian Athletics Federation disqualified Irina Maracheva, a 800-meter runner, for 2 years . Based on the biological passport indicators, it was concluded that the athlete used doping. All its results from June 26, 2012 were canceled, including the third place of the Russian team ( Irina Maracheva , Elena Kobeleva , Tatyana Myazina , Svetlana Rogozina ) in the 4x800 meters relay at the world relay championship in 2014 with the result of 8.08.19 [3] .
