Camillo Ballin ( Italian: Camillo Ballin MCCI [1] , June 24, 1944, Fontaniva , Italy ) - Catholic prelate , bishop , vicar of the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia since July 14, 2005, member of the monastic congregation of the Combonians.

Biography
In 1965, Camillo Ballin joined the monastic congregation of the Combonians. In 1968 he took monastic vows . September 9, 1968 took eternal monastic vows . On July 4, 1967, Camillo Ballin was ordained a priest . He studied Arabic in Lebanon and Syria , after which he served in Cairo from 1972 to 1977. From 1977 to 1980 he studied at the University of the Holy Spirit in Beirut and the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome . From 1981 to 1990, he was a professor at the Theological Institute in Cairo and a superior of the Combonians in Egypt. From 1990 to 1997, he organized the teaching of religious studies in Sudan . From 1997 to 2000, he was engaged in work on a dissertation, which he defended in Rome, receiving a doctorate in theology. In 2000, he became director of the Catholic Institute for Arab Studies in Cairo. In 2004, he published in Arabic the essay History of the Church.
On July 14, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Camillo Ballin the titular bishop of Arna and the vicar of the Apostolic Vicariate of Kuwait. On September 2, 2005, Camillo Ballina was ordained a bishop, performed by Cardinal Crescenzo Sepe , accompanied by the Apostolic Nuncio in Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, Archbishop Giuseppe da Andrea and titular Bishop of Tinis Proconsularius .
On May 31, 2011, the Kuwait Apostolic Vicariate was renamed the Northern Arabian Apostolic Vicariate and Camillo Ballin began to bear the title of “Vicar of the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia”.
