Biography
Alexander Kudryavtsev was born on March 12, 1909 in St. Petersburg . Since 1910 he lived in the village of Zakobyakino, Lyubimsky district, Yaroslavl region , where he graduated from five classes of a school. Having reached the age of eighteen, he left first for Leningrad , where he worked as a sailor on a ship, then for Arkhangelsk , where he worked as an electrician in the port. In 1933 - 1934 he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Demobilized, he moved to Yaroslavl , worked as an electrician at the Yaroslavl Tire Plant . In February 1942, Kudryavtsev was again drafted into the army. He graduated from accelerated courses at the Alatyr Military-Political School. Participated in the Battle of Stalingrad , was shell-shocked. In 1944 he graduated from retraining courses for armored forces [1] .
By April 1945, Lieutenant Alexander Kudryavtsev commanded a tank of the 11th separate motorcycle guards motorcycle battalion of the 1st Guards Mechanized Corps of the 4th Guards Army of the 3rd Ukrainian Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of Vienna . On April 11, 1945, having destroyed the guards near the bridge over the Danube , Kudryavtsev prevented his demolition, but in that battle he was mortally wounded. Buried in Vienna [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for “exemplary fulfillment of command assignments and shown courage and heroism in battles with the German invaders” of the guard, Lieutenant Alexander Kudryavtsev was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Orders of Lenin and the Red Banner [1] .
In honor of Kudryavtsev named street in Yaroslavl [1] .
