Catholicism in Oman

Catholicism in Oman or the Catholic Church in Oman is part of the worldwide Catholic Church. The number of Catholics in Oman is about 55 thousand people (about 2% of the total population), the majority of which are immigrant workers. The Catholic community in Oman is part of the Apostolic Vicariate of South Arabia, with its center in the city of Abu Dhabi .

Currently, there are four parishes in the country, in which 7 clergy serve:

  • Church of St. Anthony of Padua in the city of Sukhar ;
  • The Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the city of Ruvi;
  • Church of the Holy Spirit in the city of Muscat ;
  • Church of St. Francis Xavier in the city of Salalah .
