Biography

Georgy Kudashov was born on January 7, 1919 at the station Taiga (now a city in the Kemerovo region ). In 1934, he graduated from junior high school. In 1936, Kudashov moved to the town of Shepetovka in the Khmelnitsky region of the Ukrainian SSR . He graduated from the technical school of locomotive drivers in Kiev . In 1939, Kudashov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army.

Great Patriotic War

From June 1941 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War [2] .

By July 1943, Junior Lieutenant Georgy Kudashov commanded a machine-gun platoon of the 391st Infantry Regiment of the 170th Infantry Division of the 48th Army of the Central Front . He distinguished himself during the Battle of Kursk . On July 27, 1943, at the head of a group of fourteen fighters, Kudashov burst into the village of Filosofovo, Sverdlovsk District, Oryol Region . Once surrounded, the group successfully repulsed German counterattacks for two days, inflicting heavy losses on the combat equipment and manpower on the enemy. In those battles, Kudashov was wounded twice, but continued to fight until the main forces approached [2] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 15, 1944, junior lieutenant Georgy Kudashov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [2] [3] .

In 1943, Kudashov graduated from the Arkhangelsk machine-gun school. After the end of the war in the rank of lieutenant, he was dismissed. He returned to Shepetovka, worked at the railway depot [2] .

Awards

He was also awarded two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree [4] [5] (1985), orders of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree and the Red Star [6] , and a number of medals [2] .
