Biography
Istvan Sandor was the son of a Hungarian railway worker. In 1936 he joined the monastic congregation of Salesians. He worked at the Salesian Printing School, where he was engaged in teaching. In 1952, Istvan Shandor was arrested and later sentenced to death by hanging. The execution took place on June 8, 1953. His family did not know about his fate until 1955, when his father was informed of the execution of Istvan Shandor.
Praise
In 2006, the beatification process began. On March 27, 2013, Pope Francis declared Istvan Sandor a martyr of the faith [1] . On October 19, 2013, in Budapest, in the Basilica of St. Stephen, the prefect of the Congregation for the canonization of saints, Cardinal Angelo Amato, on behalf of Pope Francis, declared Istvan Sandor blessed.
