When she was three years old, the family repatriated to Israel [1] . Her father, Noah Flyg, was chairman of the parent organization of the Holocaust survivors in Israel [1] .

She graduated from the Hebrew University , where in 1980 received a master's degree in economics. She received her Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University in the USA (1985).

From 1984 to 1988 worked as an economist at the International Monetary Fund ( IMF ) in Washington. Upon returning to Israel, she worked in the research department of the Central Bank and then in the Inter-American Development Bank (1994-1996).

Since 1997, he has been working at the Central Bank again; in 2001, he headed its research department.
