Game career
He began to play football in the youth sports school in the village of Radsad under the leadership of Bogdan Shot. At the age of 14, the player was invited to the sports school "Shipbuilder" in the group of Alexander Chunikhin. From the age of 15, Zhovzherenko played in adult competitions ( championship of the region and the championship of the Ukrainian SSR among physical education teams) in the club team " Shipbuilder ", which was coached by Alexander Patrashko. In 1989, Patrashko entered the coaching staff of the adult team of “shipbuilders” and transferred young Bugai and Zhovzherenko to it. So at the age of 18 in an away match with Pavlograd Shakhtar Andrey made his debut in the USSR Championship. In two seasons he spent 40 matches in the second league. During military service was listed in Odessa SKA .
In the championships of Ukraine, he played in the teams " Evis ", " Artania ", "Tavria" (Kherson) , "Chemist" (Zhytomyr) , " Olympia FC NPP " and " Olkom ". In the mid-90s Zhovzherenko played in the championship of Russia for Sakhalin (Kholmsk) .

Coaching career
Since 2003 he worked in the school "Nikolaev". Together with Stanislav Baida, he brought the team of the school, in which football players born in 1994, played, to the DUFLU major league. Currently, Andrei Ivanovich Zhovzherenko works at the Children's and Youth Sports School No. 5 of Nikolaev.
