Sports career
Born in the family of an athlete and equestrian coach, participant of the Summer Olympics in Paris (1924), Hans Buhler.
In 1942-1945 served in the swiss cavalry. Then he received agricultural higher education in Zurich and Cambridge. At the European Championships in 1955, he won silver in team eventing. A participant in three Olympics: the Games in Rome (1960) became the most successful for him, in which he became the silver medalist in team competitions in equestrian triathlon and bronze - in the same discipline and in the individual competition. After speaking at the Olympic Games in Munich (1972), he completed his sports career.
He worked as a judge and creator of sports tracks, in particular, was responsible for their creation at the Moscow Olympics (1980). Subsequently, he refused this activity, because he considered that he did not have enough knowledge regarding the training of athletes from different countries and this could lead to injuries of riders and animals. He took part in veteran competitions.
