General Information

Thanks to reaching the finals of the tournament, Li Na updated the best result in the WTA rating for players in the Asian region at that time, taking third place in the nearest rating.

7 out of 8 prize participants came to the final championship for the second year in a row; only Elena Yankovich did not play at the 2012 tournament. Serbian took part in the Final Prize for the first time since 2010.

For the first time since 2010, none of the participants in the final eight completed the fight ahead of schedule, giving them the chance to play a reserve athlete.

For the first time in five prizes, Agnieszka Radwanska was unable to win a match in the tournament, while Angelica Kerber and Sara Errani , on the contrary, were able to win their first match in such a second competition in such competitions.

Li Na won only two matches in her two previous participation in the final competition, and at the 2013 prize she doubled the number of her victories before the end of the group stage, and later for the first time made her way to the semifinals of such championships.

Serena Williams was the first time for two consecutive years to become the strongest in the Association's Final Competition.
