Biography

Born December 30, 1937 in Tbilisi . Her childhood and youth passed in one of the old districts of Tbilisi - Sololaki . Mom, Ketevan Zandukeli, alone raised Cisana with her brother. According to her stories and memoirs, the children loved their father - Bezhan Tatishvili. The father, who won the beauty contest in Paris, received a military education in Irkutsk, but still returned to his homeland and at one time was in the position of military commissioner. He later led the military department at a state university. On December 30, visiting his wife and newborn daughter, he headed home, after which no one else saw him. Ketevan later found out that her husband was arrested and exiled, and then shot. They lived in constraint. Mother studied in the third year, was forced to leave the university and go to work. The brother of Tsisana, Gogi Tatishvili, was always an example for her to follow. It was on his advice that Cisana became a singer. He was her hottest fan. Together with her, he experienced her every appearance on the stage and was proud of her every success.

Cisana showed interest in singing from the age of five. She was a very shy child and for studying Georgian folk dances and getting used to the stage, her mother sent her to the ensemble of Giano Bagrationi [1] (song and dance ensemble), where she danced solo parts for almost a year, the People's Artist of Georgia danced with her Omar Mkheidze. [2] They performed at various concerts and delighted fans of Georgian dance and maestro Bagrationi with their plastic, beautiful physique, talent, captivating and graceful dance. Therefore, when she announced to the maestro that she was leaving the ensemble and was going to enter the conservatory in the vocal class, he was very offended, his indignation was obvious, he said angry, he threw: “Also me, the new Nadezhda Kharadze ?!” Tsisana left the ensemble and devoted herself to singing. As a result of intensive studies during the year, she successfully entered the conservatory in the class of Gulnara Kartvelishvili. Being very modest, she could open up for a long time, but despite this she achieved international recognition thanks to her voice.
