Biography
October 9, 1878 Jean-Pierre Re joined the missionary monastic organization "Paris Society of Foreign Missions". On March 4, 1882, he was ordained priest , after which he was sent on a mission to Japan.
On June 1, 1912, Pope Pius X appointed Jean-Pierre Re as archbishop of Tokyo. On July 25, 1912, Jean-Pierre Re was ordained as a bishop by Bishop Alexander Berlio in co-operation with the Bishop of Osaka Jules-Auguste Shatron and the titular Bishop of Milo and the Apostolic Vicar of Seoul Gustave-Charlie-Marie Mietelem.
On March 6, 1926, Jean-Pierre Re resigned and was appointed by the Holy See by the titular bishop of Philipopolis of Thracian .
Died May 25, 1930 in Tokyo.
