Serotherapy (from lat. Serum - serum and therapy ) - the treatment of infectious diseases of humans and animals with immune serums , a type of immunotherapy . Most often, serum is injected into the body intramuscularly, less often - intravenously. Serum antibodies neutralize germs and toxins. Typically, serum is obtained by hyperimmunization of horses .
