Captain Owl is following the trail

Each of the eight episodes is a separate detective story related to the other two main characters - the inspector of the criminal department of the Warsaw Department of MO, Captain Tomasz Sowa and his partner Albin, who are investigating another crime. Also common to all series are attempts by the main characters to get rid of nicotine addiction - diverse, sometimes very inventive, but ultimately unsuccessful ...

Series 1. Gypsum figurine / Gipsowa figurka

Scene 1 Series

The writer, the author of detectives , Navrotsky, together with filmmaker Gaida, hires a stranger in a bar to perform a strange, at first glance, task: to go into the entrance hall of Navrotsky’s apartment, on Grzegorz Fitelberg street in Warsaw Mokotów district, take a plaster figure of a swan from a dresser and bring it her back to the bar. Navrotsky gives the stranger the keys and a certain amount of money as an advance, he leaves. Gaida, however, doubts that the stranger will return ...

However, he returns and brings the figure - broken into pieces and in blood. “We will meet with you again,” the stranger tells them goodbye, leaving the bar with the figure. And he fulfills the promise, as the stranger turns out to be Captain Sova, an inspector of the criminal service of the Warsaw Directorate of the Ministry of Defense , who in the Navrotsky’s apartment discovered a corpse of a young woman with a broken head. She turns out to be nurse Rosalia Karas, and neither Navrotsky, nor Gaida, nor Stankevichova, the Navrotsky’s neighbor, nor, as it turns out the next day, Alitsa’s Navrotsky’s wife knows her. Owl and Albin undertake an investigation ...

At first, the suspicion falls on Navrotsky because of the stupid task he had invented: he could kill a woman, and blame the murder on a stranger sent to his apartment. His wife is also suspected - an actress of the Theater of Sculpture , who has no alibi. her theater was on tour in Lovich , but on the day of the murder the performance was canceled. Alicia Navrotskaya, according to her, sat all day in her hotel room, but no one saw her ...

However, in the end it turns out that Stankevichova committed the murder of the stranger. She ran over Rosalia Karas, instead of calling the police, brought her to her home, where Karas died. Stankevichova was in a serious situation, but suddenly Navrotsky, not knowing it himself, suggested a way out for her ...

It turned out that on the way to the bar where they met captain Owl, Navrotsky and Hyde were discussing a script for a detective film written by Navrotsky, which Hyde was supposed to put on. The director cast doubt on the credibility of the plot, for he did not believe that it was so easy to hire a murder performer in Poland today. However, Navrotsky, proving to Gaide that anyone can be hired for the execution of anything, agreed with an unfamiliar Sova to bring a plaster figurine from Navrotsky’s apartment to the bar. He gave the keys to Sova, but just in case he called Stankevichova and warned that a stranger would visit his apartment. She took advantage of this and transferred the body of Rosalia Karas to Navrotsky’s apartment, smeared the Karas figure in the blood, and then broke it ...

Initially, Stankevichova tried to attribute the murder to a stranger. However, when it became clear that he was the captain of the police, she had to try to urgently transfer the arrows to another suspect - for example, Alitsa Navrotskaya. But it turned out too clumsy, in addition, in the car of Stankevichova they found a watch that fell from the hands of Rosalia Karas after a collision ...

The criminal is the clown Bongo, convinced that Orlando intends to steal the secret numbers that Bongo has been preparing for several years. Exposed Sova Bongo when trying to escape gets into a cage to the lions, where he is waiting for a terrible end. But the previous attempt was not on his conscience, and Captain Owl still carries out an arrest.

Instead of materials from the Congress and his pajamas, Mikutsky sees a thermos, the contents of which make him immediately call Captain Owl, whom the professor used to know. For nothing is pouring from the thermos, but some powder is pouring in ...

The owl listens to the professor inattentively, does not notice his worried tone, answers him in a joking manner. He is busy with a much more important matter - he is discussing with Albin how to wean himself from craving for a cigarette using menthol candies ...

Suddenly, the conversation is interrupted by Mikutsky ’s phrase “I opened the thermos and ... or I am deeply mistaken, Mr. Captain, or” ... Then the professor screams and wheezes ...

Owl and Albin rush to the institute, but the professor is already lying on the floor of the office dead, strangled by his own tie. And the thermos mentioned by the professor disappeared ...

Captain Owl and Albin find out that there was smuggled heroin in the thermos and they arrest a gang of drug dealers, one of whose members is the murderer of Professor Mikutsky ...

Zuzanna Gawlik (Paul Rachs) rents a room in a village house with a talkative hostess. Left alone in the house, the girl accidentally discovers a large bottle with the label "Chloroform" in the kitchen dresser. Almost immediately after that, a policeman knocks on the house, asks the landlady and, having learned that she is gone, advises the girl to be careful and lock the doors with a key. Later on the radio, she hears news of the mysterious murder of an old woman, already the third in the area in the past two months. It gets dark, near the house there is an unfamiliar man looking for where to spend the night. Zuzanna is scared of one, she lets him into the house. Together they discuss the murders of the “vampire from the Fox”, they find a large coat on a hanger with a hammer in their pocket. Finally, someone third appears in the house and with the help of the skeleton’s hand turns off the light. Zuzanna runs away in a panic.

Captain Owl with an assistant exploring the forest. The girl stumbles upon them, tells what happened, and together with the men returns to the house for things. The hostess brings to life a stranger with a bruised head. As it turned out, when the light went out, a frightened Zuzanna hit him with a rolling pin. A cloak with a hammer and a hat disappeared.

The girl wants to leave. The stranger, who turned out to be a journalist, reminds her that it is worth getting the money paid in advance from the hostess. Mrs. Kvechinsky has her own small business - renting a room with the condition that the deposit is not returned, and scaring the residents with "tricks of the spirit." Under pressure from the police and a journalist, she brings a brand new five hundred zlotys and Zuzanna is arrested for the murder and robbery of the last victim of the “vampire”.
