Synovial bag

Subcutaneous synovial bags ( lat.bursae synoviales subcutaneae ) are single-chamber or multi-chamber cavities located in the subcutaneous tissue in the areas of the protrusions of the articular ends undergoing sharp bending of the bones, that is, in those places where free movement of the skin is necessary. Such articular bags, for example, are present in the region of the ulnar process (olecranon) of the ulna and in front of the patella . Subcutaneous synovial bags are also found on top of bone points subjected to significant pressure and friction (for example, on top of the acromion of the scapular bone , outside the ankles ) ^[1] .

Subfascial synovial bags ( Latin bursae synoviales subfasciales ) are largely identical to subcutaneous synovial bags, but are located under the fascia . As an example of a subfascial synovial bag, a subfascial pre-patellar synovial bag can be called. There is an opinion that subfascial synovial bags are a kind of subcutaneous bags ^[1] .

Dry synovial bags ( lat.bursae synoviales subtendineae ) - are reported, as a rule, with joint cavities. Some synovial tendonous bags surrounding a considerable length of the tendon become synovial sheaths of the tendons ^[1] .

Axillary synovial bags ( lat. Bursae synoviales submusculares ) - are located between the muscle and the bone, between the muscles, in the places where the muscles (tendons) fit to the joint bag ^[1] .
