The César Award for the best short animated film ( French: César du meilleur court métrage d'animation ) is an award from the French Academy of Arts and Technology for Cinema . Initially awarded from 1977 to 1990. From 1992 to 2011, short films were presented in the category for the best short film , along with fiction and documentary shorts. In 2011, short films, along with full-length ones, were included in the new category for the best animated film . Since 2014, short animated films are again singled out in a separate nomination [1] .
