University of Indonesia

University of Indonesia (Universitas Indonesia) is the leading public institution of higher education in Indonesia . One of the main centers of scientific thought in the country.

It was founded in 1950 in Jakarta on the basis of the Javanese Medical School established by the Dutch in 1849. Since 2000, it has an autonomous status ^[2] . In 2010, more than 47 thousand students studied, 7,300 teachers worked ^[3] . It consists of 15 faculties: humanities, social and political sciences, economic, legal, psychology, medical, dental, public health, mathematical and natural sciences, technology, engineering, computer, pharmacological, preschool education, postgraduate education.

Campuses are located in Salemb and Depok .

At its base, institutions of economic and social research, management, sociological research, demography, mass media, applied psychology, history, archeology, anthropology, technology, criminology, as well as centers: computing, environmental and human resources, and linguistic have been created. It maintains active relations with national, regional, international universities and research centers, including the USA , Japan , Holland , Germany , ACEAH countries. Participates in the implementation of individual scientific and educational programs in the framework of ACEAH and other regional organizations of Southeast Asia .
