Sports Biography

He was born in the family of a miner, began to ski with two years of age. In 1958 he took part in the national championship in alpine skiing, speaking more for Austria. In 1959 he took German citizenship and played for the combined German national team at the Winter Games in Squaw Valley, took fourth place in the slalom and fifth in the winter combination.

At the World Championships in 1962 in Chamonix he became the bronze medalist in the combination, in Innsbruck (1964) became the champion in the same discipline (world championship medals were played out as part of the Olympic tournament), and in 1966 at the World Championship in Chilean Portillo won the bronze medal. At the Winter Olympics in Grenoble (1968) took fifth place in the combination. He was the 15-time champion of Germany in various ski disciplines.

He was an understudy in the ski scenes of George Lezenby in the role of James Bond in the sixth series of the bondans of Her Majesty's Secret Service .
