The 1973 World Drafts World Championship was held on December 18–29 in Amsterdam , the Netherlands according to the two-circle system and became the first women world championship. It was attended by 6 athletes from 4 countries. Representative of the USSR Elena Mikhailovskaya became the world champion. The second place was taken by the representative of the USSR Tatyana Stepanova , the third place by the representative of France Raymond Barras .
