Gyula Bobish was born in 1909 in Kecskemet . In 10 years, began to engage in wrestling.

In 1936, Gyula Bobish took part in the Olympic Games in Berlin , where he performed according to the rules of Greco-Roman wrestling, but took only 10th place. In 1937, according to the rules of Greco-Roman wrestling, he was only 8th in the European Championship, but according to the rules of freestyle wrestling he won a bronze medal. In 1939, he won the bronze medal of the European Championship in the Greco-Roman wrestling rules.

In 1946, Gyula Bobish spoke at the European Championships in the rules of freestyle wrestling, but became only 4th. But in 1948 he took part in the Olympic Games in London , and won the gold medal according to the rules of wrestling, and in 1950 became the silver medalist of the world championship according to the rules of Greco-Roman wrestling.
