Botanical Description
Representatives of the genus are mostly tropical evergreen shrubs .
Leathery leaves from 7.5 to 15 cm in length.
Small flowers (white, pink, red) are collected at the ends of the branches in whorls on short petioles.
Distribution and habitat
Although ixora is widespread throughout the world, tropical Asia is the center of its diversity.
Economic Significance and Application
Red Ixora flowers are used in Indian folk medicine .
