Biography

Gilda was born on October 11, 1961 in the Villa Devoto area of Buenos Aires . Her parents Omar and Isabel Scioli de Bianchi (Omar, Isabel Scioli de Bianchi) wanted to name their daughter Gilda in honor of the main character of the film Charles Widor, where Rita Hayworth played the role of Gilda. It was not possible to do this, but the girl was often called Jilda. She later used this name as a stage name.

After leaving school, Gilda was preparing to become a physical education teacher, but at 17, after the death of her father, she was forced to leave school to help her family.

At 24, she married a young impresario Raul Kagnin. A few years later they broke up. Gilda has two children left: Marielle and Fabrizio.

At 28, she won the competition for the place of vocalist in a music group. I met with the composer and keyboardist of the group Riki Maravilla, Toti Jimenez, who became her work partner and the chosen one of the heart. Relatives at first did not approve of what Gilda was doing: nightlife, concerts, rehearsals, but soon reconciled. In 1992, Jimenez persuaded Gilda to begin a solo career and record the album De Corazón a Corazón using the local label Magenta. In 1994, the album Pasito a Pasito was released, including the hit No Me Arrepiento De Este Amor .

On September 7, 1996, Gilda's life was tragically cut short. During her trip around the country, in order to promote the Corazón Valiente album, on the 129th kilometer of Route 12, a truck crashed into Dzhilda 's minibus; along with her, her mother, daughter Mariel, and three musicians from the group died. Miraculously, the son of Gilda Fabrizio and Toti Jimenez survived. This tragedy caused great sympathy and resonance in the world of dance music. Crowds of fans came to say goodbye to the singer. Close and relatives were surprised, not knowing about its popularity.

Gilda posthumously won the Garlos Gardel Award in the category "Best Singers Tropical" [1] [2] [3] .

Gilda’s songs sound and her image is present in the Argentinean television series “Wild Angel”, where the main role was played by Natalia Oreiro.

In 2016, the film "Gilda, I do not regret this love" ("Gilda, no me arrepiento de este amor") was shot, in which Natalia Oreiro played the role of Gilda.
