Matvey Vasilievich Buturlin (? - 1607 ) - the steward and governor , the only son of the governor Vasily Andreevich Buturlin (d. 1569 ) and the grandson of okolnichy Andrey Nikitich Buturlin (? - 1536 ).

Biography
In 1581, Matvey Buturlin was mentioned in the rank of the wedding of Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich the Terrible with Maria Fedorovna Naga . In December 1589 - January 1590 he participated in the campaign of the Russian army against the Swedes on Narva in the position of esaul of the tsarist regiment.
In 1598 he participated in the Zemsky Sobor , which decided to elect Boris Fedorovich Godunov to the Russian royal throne. He signed under the electoral conciliar letter, and after the cathedral he was Jesul in the royal campaign against Serpukhov to reflect the expected raid of the Crimean khan.
In 1601, Matvey Buturlin served as governor in the Valuyki fortress, and in 1605 in Stary Oskol . In 1607 he was sent by the tsarist government against the impostor Lzhepetra , but was killed in battle with him.
He left behind two sons: Michael and Vasily.
