History
People lived in the area of present-day Pluber from the Neolithic period , as evidenced by the stone tools found here and several menhirs . First mentioned in documents in 1330 under the name Plebis Petri. In the Middle Ages, local seniors built several castles here, the most powerful of which was Koafrek.
During the Religious Wars, the Plubourg in 1590, like Lannion and a number of other neighboring cities, was burned down by the troops of the Duke de Merker . In 1592, League supporters occupied Koafrec Castle and held it until 1593. After the war ended, in 1600, the castle was demolished by order of Henry IV , its ruins are preserved.
