Museum History
The museum was founded in 1967 by the People’s Museum, housed in the Palace of Culture of Railway Workers (now the House of Science and Technology of the Car Depot Debaltseve and Sort). By the decision of the executive committee of the city council since September 1998, the city historical museum was created in the city [1] .
On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of V.N.Sosyura , in 1998 a museum room was opened dedicated to him.
Since 2002 (in honor of the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the city), the museum has been located in the Center for Culture and Leisure.
Since 2008, the decision of the city council - the city literary and historical museum.
In 2012, the literary and historical museum was visited by 3200 people. Since 1998, the museum was managed by T. I. Demidova, S. I. Todyka, N. S. Gavrilenko. Since 2010, the director of the historical and literary museum O. V. Gryazeva.
Museum exhibits and activities
More than 6 thousand exhibits reflect the history of the settlement of the region, the traditions of the inhabitants of the city, the work of fellow countrymen and craftsmen. Exhibitions, lectures, tours, the museum is engaged in publishing (almanacs of poetry, booklets, books on the history of Debaltseve).
The museum covers an area of 369 m², its funds are 6347 units [2] .
