Vasily Timofeevich Malinovsky ( July 11, 1920 - June 13, 1997 ) - Soviet soldier, participant of the Great Patriotic War , Hero of the Soviet Union , assistant battery commander for the technical part of the 1893rd self-propelled artillery regiment (6th Guards Kiev-Berlin Tank Corps, 3 I am the Guards Tank Army, 1st Ukrainian Front), lieutenant technician .

Biography
Born on July 11, 1920 in the village of Dubovaya Grove, now Aleksandrovsky District, Stavropol Territory
In July 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army and sent to a military school. In the summer of 1942 he graduated from the accelerated course of the Stalingrad Tank School, received the title of technician-lieutenant.
During the raid on the city of Fastov ( Kiev region ), when the commander of one of the self-propelled guns was killed, Malinovsky headed the crew. On November 6, 1943, his ACS was among the first to break into the city of Fastov. In the battle for the city, reflecting the enemy’s counterattacks, the crew of Malinovsky destroyed several tanks and many enemy soldiers and officers.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated January 10, 1944 for exemplary performance of combat missions of the command and the courage and heroism shown by this, Lieutenant Malinovsky technician Vasily Timofeevich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal.
After the war, continued service in the army. He retired from the army in 1974 with the rank of colonel.
He lived in St. Petersburg . He died on June 13, 1997. He was buried at the Serafimov cemetery .
