The 26th European Women's Volleyball Cup was held from November 2, 1985 to February 16, 1986 with the participation of 20 club teams of the member countries of the European Volleyball Confederation (EKV) . The final stage was held in Uppsala ( Sweden ). The winner of the tournament for the third time in its history was the Soviet team CSKA (Moscow) .

The tournament was attended by the champions of 20 ECB member countries. The competition consisted of the 1st round, 1/8 and 1/4 playoff finals and the final stage.
The final stage consisted of a one-round tournament with the participation of four winners of the quarter-final pairs.
