Calvin Pearly Gardner ( English Calvin Pearly Gardner , October 30, 1924 , Transcon, Manitoba , Canada - October 10, 2001 ) is a former Canadian hockey player , center forward . He spent 12 seasons in the National Hockey League , played for the teams “ New York Rangers ”, “ Toronto Maple Leafs ”, “ Chicago Black Hawks ” and “ Boston Bruins ”.

Game career

Cal Gardner was born in Transcon ( Manitoba ), where he began his hockey career in the local junior hockey league in the Winnipeg KUAK team. In 1943 , speaking at the Winnipeg Rangers Club (ZUHL), he won the Memorial Cup , the main trophy of the Canadian Junior Hockey League .

In 1943, Gardner was drafted into the Canadian Forces . After the end of World War II, he returned to hockey and signed his first professional contract with the New York Rangers club, where he played 2 seasons before being exchanged for the Toronto Maple Leafs team in 1948 . With Toronto, Gardner won two Stanley Cups in 1949 and 1951 .

He spent the 1952/53 season at the Chicago Black Hawks , from where he was sold to the Boston Bruins . In 1957, Gardner completed his career in the NHL .
