Biography

Born November 25, 1923 in the city of Georgievsk, Stavropol Territory .

In the summer of 1942 he participated in the battles near Rostov-on-Don. He was enrolled in the 383rd Infantry Division, which included the entire war. He fought in the North Caucasus, in battles near Novorossiysk.

On the night of December 5, 1943, near the village of Bulganak Crimea, the Red Army man Mamedov with a group of sappers made a passage in a minefield and mined wire fences. When the sappers discovered by the enemy retreated to their positions, Mammadov remained in place and at the right time blew up the barriers, clearing the path of the advancing infantry. March 1, 1944 was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On May 9, 1944, the 696th Infantry Regiment led an offensive in the Balaklava area. In the battle at the St. George Monastery, the Red Army soldier Mamedov, being in the chain of shooters, was the first to attack and carried the fighters with him. Bursting into the enemy’s trench, he destroyed a machine gun with a grenade. On June 5, 1944 he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

On February 10, 1945, Junior Sergeant Mammadov with a group of scouts broke through the encirclement ring in the area of ​​the city of Fürstenberg Germany, which allowed the rifle battalion to operate successfully. For this battle was presented to the award of the Order of Glory .

In the latest Berlin operation, Junior Sergeant Mammadov and his scouts walked ahead of the regiment's battle formations. In the area of ​​the settlement of Lossov south of the city of Frankfurt an Oder, the soldiers scouted all the firing points and barriers. In just three days of fighting on April 16-18, Mammadov delivered valuable information to the unit of 7 prisoners.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, Junior Sergeant Mamedov Konstantin Alekseevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree for exemplary performance of the tasks of the command. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.

In 1947 he was demobilized. Having studied at the school, he soon became the director of a mine in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. He died on April 5, 1983.
