Biography
He graduated from the Novosibirsk Military Infantry School. In 1940 he fought as a volunteer in the Soviet-Finnish war . From September 1941 he took part in the Great Patriotic War . Participated in the battles of Moscow and the Kursk , Belarusian , East Prussian , Koenigsberg operations .
In April 1945, during the landing operation on the Frische-Nerung braid, it was seriously contused. On June 29, 1945, the guards Major Viktor Dmitrievich Mitrakov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal.
Later he graduated from the Military Academy named after MV Frunze , worked as a teacher at the Vilnius Military School , commanded a rifle regiment. He lived in Tallinn ( Estonian SSR ). In 1961 - fired into the reserve, from 1977 - retired. Since 1994, he lived in the city of Tosno, Leningrad Region. He led a patriotic work, was a member of the city Council of war veterans. In 2005, he participated in the parade in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Victory in Moscow .
He died on October 4, 2013.
