Biography
Copeland was born in Lubbock , Texas. Grew up in West Texas, near the airfield of the US Air Force , which subsequently [ when? ] inspired him to become a pilot [1] .
Prior to his conversion to Christianity , Copeland was an artist on Lin Records and Imperial Records. [2] One of his songs entitled “Pledge of Love” in 1957 lasted 15 weeks on the Billboard Top 40 charts, reaching 17th position [3] .
In 1962, Kenneth Copeland became a Christian [4] . In the 1960s, Copeland worked as a pilot with the preacher Oral Roberts. In 1967 he entered the University of Oral Roberts [5] .
On April 3, 1967, Kenneth and Gloria Copland got married [4] . They have three children: John Copeland, Terry Piersons and Kelly Swisher [6] [7] . Gloria Copeland is Vice President of the Kenneth Copeland Mission. [8] Kelly Swisher is the creator of the Superkid cartoon and the Superkid Academy curriculum for children, and serves as a children's pastor at Eagle Mountain Church. [8] Copeland's daughter Terry Piersons, along with her husband George, are senior pastors of the Eagle Mountain International Church, attended by 1,500 parishioners. [9] [10] According to their son-in-law Stephen Swisher, the Copelands started a life together in debt, but thanks to faith and the Bible they got rid of debt and have been living in financial freedom for 45 years. [eleven]
Copeland starred in the films: Judgment: The Trial of Commander Kellie (1999), The Rally (2010), The Rally 2: Breaking the Curse (2014) [12] . Executive producer of the film "The Rally" [13] .
In 2012, Kenneth Copeland received the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award aviation award, which is received by pilots who have shown the highest level of professionalism, skills and knowledge in the field of aviation [14] .
Copeland’s mission sponsors bought him a $ 20 million jet to preach the gospel. [15] [16] Commenting on the purchase of an airplane by Kenneth’s son, John Copeland said that “someone may think that owning an airplane is a luxury, but when he has to visit 19 countries in 12 months, it’s not a luxury, but a tool for service. " [17]
Some media have called Copeland "the godfather of the gospel of prosperity ." [18]
Kenneth Copeland's Mission
Kenneth Copeland’s mission was founded in 1967 in Fort Worth by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland [19] . Kenneth Copeland’s first seminar entitled The Laws of Prosperity was held in Oklahoma in 1972 [20] . In 1973, the first issue of the Victory of the Believer magazine was published [21] . In September 2013, the Kenneth Copeland Mission celebrated the fortieth anniversary of the release of the first magazine [21] . The monthly magazine The Victorious Voice of the Believer is distributed free of charge in English, Spanish, Russian and German among 570 thousand subscribers from 135 countries [22] .
Since 1979, the Kenneth Copeland Mission has been operating in the Asia-Pacific region [23] . Kenneth Copeland, together with his wife, are the authors and presenters of the program “The Victorious Voice of the Believer”, which is broadcast by 90 television companies around the world [24] . The mission also has its own Russian-language branch, which operates in the city of Lviv .
Kenneth and Gloria Copland are the authors of 58 books, which are translated into 17 languages [25] . The Kenneth Copeland Mission has approximately 500 employees worldwide [25] .
In 2010, Australia's TEN television company stopped broadcasting the Victory of the Believer program because Cowland condemned homosexuality on the air. Representatives of the channel stressed that such statements violate their professional code, which prohibits expressing hostility to people based on their sexual preferences [26] .
In 2011, US Senator Chuck Grassley investigated the financial activities of the Kenneth Copeland Mission. The audit revealed that in 1995 15 members of Kenneth Copeland's family received salaries in the total amount of $ 1.5 million [27] . The audit also revealed the use of a corporate aircraft worth $ 20 million for personal purposes. [27] Francis Hill, a University of Miami specialist on unprofitable tax laws, claims that the Mission has “too much money” and too many relatives working, which is an alarming signal. [28] Having stated that part of the interests referred to in the requests of the US Senate Finance Committee are protected by the US Constitution, Kenneth Copeland’s Mission provided answers to 17 of 42 questions. [29] [30] The Mission also emphasized that the church is required to report only to the Internal Revenue Service , and not to senators. [31] Copeland himself stated that his financial statements belong to God and the senator will not receive them. [sixteen]

Kenneth Copeland preaches on Bible- based topics about faith, love, healing, prosperity, redemption, righteousness, and the principles of a victorious Christian life. [32] Copeland is convinced that God is never wrong, unlike man. [33] He believes that a person can talk with God even about everyday activities. [33] Kenneth Copeland argues that every person who accepts Jesus Christ as their God and savior, through faith, can become successful, receive healing from illness, and resolve financial needs. [10] [34] [35] His wife Gloria reported that she and her husband did not take pills, because God heals all diseases. [35] He states that two systems work in the world: the “Babylonian system” and the “system of the kingdom of God” [36] . According to Copeland, the Babylonian system is a world order system based on a curse that came to humanity through the fall of Adam [37] . Copeland argues that the global economy works according to the laws of the Babylonian system and therefore crashes [36] [38] . He is convinced that failure, illness and poverty are the result of life according to the laws of the “Babylonian system” [37] [39] . In his own words, “the system of the Kingdom of God” is based on the Bible, and it is a system of world order, according to which, through faith in God and the power of one’s words, a person can be successful in every area of his life [37] [40] [41] . He declares that God wants all believers to have financial prosperity regardless of the state of the economy [42] .
