Operation
Spain
In 1935, six He 60e were sent to Spain, where they included the Condor legion in the AS / 88 naval air group. [2] In 1937, the He 60e appeared as part of the Franco aviation. The main objective of these vehicles was to patrol the Atlantic coast and intercept ships bound for northern ports, which were controlled by Republicans. He 60e was based in Cadiz . During flights over the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea , 35 ships were fired from machine guns and 50 more were found trying to break through the blockade of republican ports. Four He 60e were used until 1948. [1]
Germany
In the Luftwaffe, by 1938, aircraft of modifications C and D armed four coastal and ship units. By the beginning of World War II , 81 He 60s were used in the North and Baltic Seas. In the first months of the war, they were involved in patrolling the coastal waters. In the initial period of the war against the USSR, He 60 was based on the shores of the Baltic Sea. [2]
