Mikhail Moiseevich Lebedinets (October 29, 1889 [1] , Gadyach, Poltava Province - December 17, 1934, Kiev ) - Ukrainian prose writer, translator, member of the All-Russian Constituent Assembly , Soviet statesman.

Biography

The son of a petty merchant. He studied at the Lubenskaya Gymnasium [2] , then at the Medical Faculty of Warsaw University (1909-1911), where he was expelled for participating in the Ukrainian student Socialist Revolutionary organization and sent to the Poltava region. Since 1906, under police supervision, the Social Revolutionary has been prosecuted for calling peasants for agrarian unrest [2] . In 1913 he entered the Faculty of Law of the University of Warsaw. During the First World War he served as an ensign in a convoy battalion. In 1917 he intensified his work in the Ukrainian party of socialists-revolutionaries , was elected chairman of the Ukrainian military council of the Western Front and chairman of the front faction of the party. Member of the Army Committee of the 2nd Army. Head of the Ukrainian Military Rada. WRC was arrested in November 1917 [2] .

At the end of 1917 he was elected to the All-Russian Constituent Assembly in the constituency on the Western Front according to list No. 1 (Ukrainian Socialist Revolutionaries and Social Democrats) [2] .

After the signing of the Brest Peace in April 1918 he moved to Kiev . In 1919-1920 he belonged to the UKP (b). He was a member of the board of the Orunt Publishing Society (Pochva, 1918), worked at the Bureau of Press and Propaganda of the UPR , and was the secretary of the editorial board of the Borotba newspaper (Borya, 1919). In May-August 1919 - People's Commissar of Justice of the Ukrainian SSR , from August 1919 to the beginning of 1920 - a member of the foreign bureau of the Central Committee of the Ukrainian Communist Party (Bolsheviks) in Moscow. Therefore, he moved to Kharkov , joined the CP (b) U. In 1920-1921 he was a member of the board and deputy people's commissar of justice of the Ukrainian SSR, from January 1922 to January 1924 he was the head of the consular department of the embassy of the Ukrainian SSR and the USSR in Poland , and from February 1924 to September 1928 he was the chairman of the Supreme Court of the Ukrainian SSR. 1928 he, as a former Borotbist, was removed from work in the Supreme Court and transferred to Odessa to the post of director of the opera house . Returning to Kharkov, he worked at the publishing house “ Ukrainian Soviet Encyclopedia ”. In the fall of 1934, Lebedinets was arrested by the GPU ; as part of a “group of 29” he was accused of belonging to an underground terrorist White Guard organization and shot [3] .
