Corvette Description
Sailing wooden corvette . The length of the corvette was 42.7 meters , width - 12.2 meters , draft - 4.9 meters . The armament of the ship consisted of 24 guns [2] .
Service history
In 1805, the transport "Diomid" was converted into a corvette and became part of the Black Sea Fleet [1] .
He took part in the wars with France in 1804-1807. Turning from Sevastopol to Corfu, in 1806 he joined the squadron of Vice-Admiral D. N. Senyavin . In April of the same year he left for Castelnovo and stayed there until the end of the year, on January 29–31, 1807 he returned to Corfu as a member of the detachment. In connection with the outbreak of the Anglo-Russian war, from 12 to 28 December 1807, he moved from Corfu to Trieste as part of the squadron of captain-commander I. O. Saltanov [3] .
The corvette Diomede remained in Trieste until it was sold to the French government on September 27, 1809 , and the crew was returned to Russia [2] .
