Born in the village of Krna, Yerndzhak region (today in the Julfa region of Azerbaijan ) [1] . He studied at the University of Gladzor , then in his native village, in the monastery of the Holy Virgin, under the guidance of the famous wardap Hovhannes Krnetsi . After training, he is engaged in the development of creative activities of the monastery. He was a supporter of the unification of Christian churches, was a member of the movement of Armenian uniters. Translated from Latin into Armenian the works of Hilbert Porretansky , Albert the Great and Thomas Aquinas , for which he received the nickname "Targman" ( translator ). Thanks to the efforts of Hakob and Hovhannes in 1330, Bartholomew of Bologna, Peter of Aragon and John of England moved to Krnu and engaged in literary activities, many of whose works were preserved thanks to Hakob's translations. By the middle of the XIV century, his translations were distributed in many cultural centers of Armenia, were used as textbooks on philosophy at Tatev University and greatly influenced the formation of the views of Hovhannes Vorotnetsi and Grigor Tatevatsi [1] . Hakob’s activities deepened the Armenian-European scientific and literary ties, and contributed to familiarizing the Armenian intelligentsia with European philosophical teachings [1] . In 1347, Hovhannes Krneti and Peter Aragon died, after which life in the Krnaisk monastery quickly fell into decay. Nothing is known about Akop's later life and work.
