Paul (Corvette, 1804)

“Pavel” is an 18-gun sailing corvette of the Black Sea , then the Baltic Fleet of Russia . Member of the wars with France in 1804-1807 [1] [2] .

Service History

In 1804, transport was bought in Kherson , which, after conversion into a corvette, became part of the Black Sea Fleet . In 1805, the corvette went on a practical voyage to the Black Sea , the next year made a training voyage along the Black Sea with midshipmen and cadets on board [1] [2] .

He took part in the wars with France in 1804-1807. Moving from Sevastopol to Corfu, in the autumn of 1806 he joined the squadron of Vice Admiral D.N. Senyavin . In 1807, being on the island of St. Moors, performed the functions of its protection. And in 1808, after the departure of the squadrons of D. N. Senyavin and I. O. Saltanov , he was left to Corfu [3] .

After September 27, 1809, the Pavel corvette was sold to the French government, and the crew returned to Russia [1] .

From 1805 to 1807, M. N. Kumani [1] [3] served as commander of the corvette “Pavel”.
