Club career
Carter Ashton was selected in the first round of the 2009 NHL Draft Tampa . After passing the training camp before the 2009/10 season, he signed a three-year rookie contract with the team [1] . In the deadline of exchanges on February 28, 2012, Ashton was exchanged at the Toronto Maple Leafs for defender Keith Oli [2] .
Ashton played his first NHL game on March 7, 2012 against the Pittsburgh Penguins , replacing the injured Joffrey Lupula [3] [4] . Carter Ashton earned his first point on October 8, 2013 in a match against Colorado Avalanche , making an assist [5] .
On February 6, 2015, Ashton was traded back to Tampa along with striker David Broll for the conditional selection in the seventh round of the 2016 draft pick [6] [7] .
July 21, 2015 signed a contract with the KHL club “ Torpedo ” from Nizhny Novgorod [8] .
May 18, 2016 Torpedo announced the extension of the contract with Ashton for two seasons [9]
Team
Ashton played at the Glinka Memorial for the Junior Team of Canada in 2009. As part of the youth national team of Canada, he participated in the 2011 World Youth Championship .
