Biography

Born on July 13, 1943 in the town of Snow , in a large family. Father - Vasily Mitrofanovich - a miner, mother - Alexandra Yakovlevna. Early began work, first as a postman, then as a hammerman in the Removskaya Vostochnaya mine. In 1962 he entered the Faculty of History and Philology of the Shakhty Pedagogical Institute. In the same year he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. After graduation, he transferred to the history department of Donetsk State University, which he graduated in 1969 .

In his student years, Peter Vasilyevich seriously began to engage in science, the first successes in this field were noted at the First All-Union competition of student research papers. Then, in 1967, Peter Vasilyevich was awarded an award for his scientific work “The Breakthrough of the Mius-Front and Its Importance in the Liberation of Donbass”. For active work in the student scientific society, in 1969 he was awarded a diploma of the Ministry of Education of the USSR. Petr Vasilievich in his student years showed himself as an active participant in student construction teams. The geography of the labor exploits of the detachments is quite wide - Central Asia, Poland, the GDR. After graduating from Donetsk State University, he continued his career as a senior lecturer at the Department of CPSU History at DonSU. In 1970, he entered graduate school at the Department of CPSU History, and in 1973 he defended his Ph.D. thesis under the supervision of F. Khoroshaylov. From 1973 he worked as a lecturer at the Donetsk city committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, as a senior lecturer at evening university of Marxism-Leninism.

The next stage of the scientific activity of Peter Vasilyevich was the doctoral dissertation. For the preparation of scientific research Peter Vasilyevich entered the doctoral program of the Moscow State University. M. V. Lomonosov. After defending his doctoral thesis, the career of Peter Vasilyevich is connected directly with the Department of History of Ukraine at DonSU. In addition to working at the department, P. V. Dobrov served as deputy dean of the faculty of history. In 1999, after the death of V. F. Burnosov, P. V. Dobrov was elected dean of the history department of Donetsk State University. In the same year he was elected a member of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Academy of Historical Sciences. In 2001, on the initiative of P. V. Dobrov, the Institute of History of Donbass was established. In 2001, Peter Vasilyevich headed the Specialized Scientific Council for the Protection of Candidate and Doctoral Theses. As of October 2013, 300 doctoral and master's theses were defended in the council. Edited by P. V. Dobrova publishes a number of scientific historical journals: “Historical and political science research”, “Archaeological Bulletin”, “Edge of history”.

The scientific heritage of P. V. Dobrova is 270 scientific and methodological works, 35 brochures, 52 individual and collective monographs. In addition, Peter V. prepared 49 candidates and 19 doctors of historical sciences. Among them are such famous Ukrainian historians as: A.V. Bredikhin, A.V. Gedo, V.V. Zadunaysky, V.A. Morgun, I.Ya. Todorov, L.G. Shepko Awards and honorary titles: “Honored Ukrainian education worker ”(2001),“ Honorary Member of the All-Ukrainian Union of Regionalists ”(2008),“ Honorary Local History Specialist of the Donetsk Region ”(2008),“ Distinguished Professor of Donetsk National University ”(2011), Honorary Badge of the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of Ukraine "For active social activities" (2007).

Awarded: diplomas of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "For Special Merits to the Ukrainian People" (2007), Executive Committee of the Donetsk City Council "For fruitful scientific activities, high professionalism, significant personal contribution to the development of science and education" (2007), Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2008 ), Of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine “For many years of diligent work, personal contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists, fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity” (2008), Honorary badge of the Donetsk Regional Council are "for conscientious scientific work, high professionalism and significant contribution to the development of science and education" (2008). He was awarded two USSR medals, the K. Zhukov Medal, the Order of Merit, III Degree (2009), the Medal For Valor (2011), the Afghan Glory memorial sign (2011), the Order of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church "In Blessing for Works glory of the holy church "(2011).
