Biography

 

Born in an employee's family. In 1920 he graduated from the pedagogical courses at the Minsk Pedagogical College. In 1929-1930 he worked as a rural teacher.

The first poem was published in 1925 in the newspaper “Belarusian Village”.

From 1932 he worked in Minsk at the State Publishing House and the editorial offices of the newspaper Literature and Art (Russian. Literature and Art). Here he began his active creative activity. The first poem was published in 1925 in the newspaper "Belarusian Village".

For three years, the State Publishing House of the BSSR published four books by Mikhas Bagun. In 1933 - the first collection of poems "Golden Early", in 1935, two books "Reha Bora" (Echo of Storms) and "Paems" (Poems), in 1934 the book "Versha i i apyadannі" (Poems and short stories).

Mihas Bagun wrote not only poems and poems, but also prose, was engaged in translations. Translated into Belarusian language the novels of L. Pervamaisky "Neighborhood" (1931, co-author), F. Panfyorov "Bruski" (1932, co-author), N. Ostrovsky " How the steel was tempered " (1936), individual works of A. Pushkin , V. V. Mayakovsky, E. Bagritsky, J. Hasek, R. Alberci. A number of songs were written on the words of M. Bagun. They translated many pieces of music for the Minsk Theater and Conservatory.

On November 4, 1936, Bagun was arrested by the NKVD and sentenced to 8 years in prison. The poet died of illness and exhaustion in the transit camp.

Rehabilitated by the Supreme Court of the BSSR on December 29, 1954.

Twenty years after his death, he was posthumously accepted into the Union of Soviet Writers of the BSSR .

The burial place is unknown. The symbolic grave of the writer is located next to the grave of his mother - Vera Efimovna Bloshkina in Grodno , in the cemetery on ul. Antonova (near the tomb of Eliza Ozheshko ).
