Biography
Born in Marseille in the south of France. He began his cinematic career in 1963 as an assistant director on the set of films such as Head against the Wall , Minor People, Epsom Gentleman and many others, where he gained experience working with directors Henri Verneuil , Bernard Borderi , actors Jean Gabin , Louis de Funes , Jean Lefebvre and others. The first independent directorial work was the film Horizon , which received extremely negative reviews from film critics. The opportunity to shoot the next picture, Jacques Ruffio received only in 1975. She became the crime drama " Seven deaths with a prescription ." This work was well received by the public and critics. She was nominated for 4 Cesar Awards , including for Best Film and Best Original or Adapted Screenplay . Two years later, in the film “ Sugar ”, the filmmaker again removes the duet of the leading actors from the previous tape - Depardieu and Piccoli - and again achieves audience success. In 1982, Jacques Ruffio manages to bring the popular actress Romy Schneider out of depression [2] (the year before her son died as a result of an accident) and persuaded immediately to two main roles in the film “ Passer from Sanssouci ”. Unfortunately, the actress died of a heart attack a few days before the premiere. Further work of the director was not marked by significant victories and achievements.
