In 1999, the Porog magazine and its editors Irina Saenko and Alexey Korepanov were awarded the “Second Pancake” prize by Dmitry Gromov and Oleg Ladyzhensky with the wording [3] :
| for what they are, in spite of all the Armageddons, and on the pages of their magazine there is always a place for fiction |
.
In 2001, the magazine "Threshold" was recognized as the best Russian-language HF magazine abroad according to the version of the science fiction convention "Volgakon" [4] .
Priority topics for the magazine: history, mythology, religion, philosophy, psychology, healing, ufology, new hypotheses, riddles of nature and ancient civilizations, mysticism, ekotriika and more. The magazine published fantastic and mystical literary works, literary articles and fandom news. According to the policy of the journal, half of each issue was occupied by unique (not previously published anywhere else) literary works and critical articles [2] . In the years of its existence, the magazine “Threshold” published annually up to one and a half hundreds of previously never published science fiction works [1] .
Editor-in-chief Aleksey Korepanov prefers to publish his own fantastic works in his own magazine: in Porohe he published the novel Asleep Prince 1997–1998, 7 tales (Circles of Paradise, 1988, Hunters unearthly, 1990, The Thoughts of Atlanta "1995," Winner "1997," Solaris Station "1999) and about 3 dozen stories [1] .
Vsevolod Maltsev in his book "The Craft of the Writer" attributed the Threshold to the category of small magazines. The publications in the journal were royalty free and even the copy was sent by the author himself [2] .
The journal "Threshold" ceased to exist in 2007. The almanac “Porog-AK” [5] [6], published since 2008, became the heir of the journal.
