Geography
It is located about 89 km north of the district center.
Toponymy
According to Stanislav Gurulyov , based on the dictionary of the ketologist Heinrich Werner , the toponym Cherchet comes from the Kott d'era , d'ra is a lizard and even is a river , that is, a lizard river [1] .
Population
According to the All-Russian Census , in 2010, 341 people lived in the village (170 men and 171 women) [2] .
