Toponymy
According to Andrei Dulzon, the toponym Saranchet comes from the Kottsky ch'arang - the sleeve of the river and even - the river .
According to the assumption of Stanislav Gurulev , the toponym can be based on the Buryat Caraana - the root (or bulb) of Sarana , saranka (Siberian red lily) [1] .
Population
According to the All-Russian Census , in 2010, 113 people (58 men and 55 women) lived in the village at the station [2] .
