Salvador Ley ( Spanish: Salvador Ley ; January 2, 1907 , Guatemala - March 21, 1985 ) is a Guatemalan-American composer and music teacher.

Biography
He studied as a pianist first in Guatemala with Herculano Alvarado , then in 1922-1930. in Berlin by Georg Bertram and Egon Petri . He also studied theory and composition with Wilhelm Klatte and Hugo von Leichtentritt . Returning to Guatemala in 1934, he headed the National Conservatory ; thanks to Leia’s activities, the conservatory’s teaching staff was enriched by European specialists, among whom was Franz Ippis . In 1937 - 1944 He worked in the United States, then returned to Guatemala as the head of the Conservatory, and finally in 1953 he finally settled in New York. In 1963 - 1970 professor of composition at the Westchester Conservatory at White Plains .
Author of Concertino for piano and orchestra ( 1952 ), serenades for string orchestra ( 1971 ), numerous piano pieces, among which the Fantastic Dance stands out ( Spanish: Danza fantástica ; 1950 ) [1] , about 70 songs for voice and piano.
